What we have here is heavily damaged iPad mini. It was thrown out of the car by accident and got ran over after. Customer thought this was a dead unit but remembered us saying “anything can be fixed” so this was brought over to see if it’s possible.
As you can see in the picture, it was not in a good shape. Front camera is exposed due to missing screen, digitizer and screen is completely shattered. However, we notice the housing is not heavily damaged and not bent, we assumed the main logic board would be still operational.
After careful testing, we find the battery has gotten bad which was preventing the iPad from booting (as shown in the picture). So we replaced battery and confirmed it was working.
Once the unit is confirmed to be operational, it is a breeze to get the device back to life by replacing necessary components.
iPad mini is back to life.
